GPS tracking lost mid exercise

GPS signal was lost during 2nd last lap of my usual route. The Ionic kept saying connecting but refused to connect for the rest of my exercise. It did this for at least 10 minutes!

Once i completed the exercise, I went to start a new exercise and it connected within a few seconds (at the same location).

@RoyceL I hope you're doing well! Have you experienced this once again?

 

I think the GPS signal was blocked by some of the following reasons: 

 

  • Tall buildings
  • Underground passages
  • Atmospheric effects

As you said that Ionic got GPS signal correctly on the same location, I'd believe this time it got blocked by atmospheric effects. How was the weather? Was it cloudy by any chance? Thick clouds may block the GPS signal that come from satellites. Check this article for more details as well as this other one.
