This is a minor thing but I'm finding it kind of annoying.
When you are in one of the apps (let's say 'Settings'), when you are through with it, you have to hit the home button three or four times to get back to the main clock screen.
Is there a way to just quickly get back to the main screen with hitting that button three or four times?
I tried pressing and holding the home button, hoping that would do the trick, but that just opened up FitBit Pay.

Understood, defaulting to the clock after dimming was pretty standard with all tracker models u to the Ionic @hs100789
The Ionic incorporates a very, very frequently requested feature of screen "stickiness" so you can continue with whatever feature you were using at wake up so, yup, it takes a few pushes of the back button to get "home". Bit of a trade off.
Don't forget when in the App screen itself (not in a submenu like preferences) you can still quickly swipe left to right to get back home if the button is inconvenient -
oh, speaking of buttons, have you discovered from the clock face you can do a single click of the top right button to see your "today" stats? It sticks too at wakeup, but can be toggled back to clock face with a single push of the left "home" button.
enjoy!
