Google Pixel 2 & XL Compatibility

Why, why on God's green earth is this fitbit ionic not compatible with one of the top flagship phones for this year. I've seen some half **ahem** answers to this question but none that actually fully explain why fitbit has dropped the ball on the compatibility. There has to be plenty of other people out there that agree how stupid this is on fitbits part that still hasn't found a solution to this after 2 months of this phones release.

Just wanted to update...I don't know what exactly worked but something did. I have managed to get my BLAZE watch working with the Pixel 2 XL. I did a number of things but they were: turned off the sync all day, restarted Fitbit app and turned back on; unsynced everything from my phone's Bluetooth and then started over syncing watch; and turning the phone to vibrate rather than pushing the volume all the way down to silent because that is Do Not Disturb. My watch is now getting notifications of both text and phone call when my phone has Bluetooth turned on and the watch is somewhat near it.

I still cannot get phone/message on my Pixel 2 XL.  So disappointing - This forum has been very helpful.

Here are some of the things I have tried:  removed and reinstalled the app from my phone, reset my Charge 2 several times at the same time of powering down my phone.  I have removed the bluetooth connection and re-added as the only device connected.  I have checked all my settings to make sure I am not on DND.

I get all of the data from my Fitbit Charge2, but I don't get messages/phone information on my Pixel.  I hate to say it, but I miss my iPHONE for this function.  😞

Same thing happened to me. I was using a Samsung Note 5 when I first purchased the Ionic and used it fine. When I got the Pixel 2 XL, everything worked seamlessly. Out of nowhere, one day, about a month ago, I stopped receiving notifications on my phone. I set it up to get texts, calls, emails, certain app notifications. I didn't receive a single one. I contacted Fitbit and was simply told it was incompatible.

How about notifications.

I do get notifications to get up and walk and time to wind down.  What I really want is to know who calling and who is IMIng me with the first part of the text.

Would love to be notified if there are any changes to this compatibility issue. I can't believe my Blaze isn't compatible with my new pixel 2!!! I cannot get it to sync whatsoever after the first time it gets setup from scratch. I don't even care if the notifications don't work, I just really need the step data for my health insurance. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I called the support 800# on the fit bit app and the guy I talked to didn't agree with the live chat people. He said from what I understand of "tech-talk" from a software standpoint they are compatible. Try calling, my watch and phone are working nicely together now!

My Ionic stopped syncing for the 2nd time with my Pixel 2 XL. Last time I reinstalled the app and did a factory reset of the watch, which worked for about a week but has stopped syncing again now. Live chat support tech said today that it's not fully compatible with the Pixel 2 😕

Shame, but looks like I will be returning it. Back to old trusty pebble!

What is not synching between the two? just notifications?

Mine seems to be working fine but im nervous it will start messing up..

From the app it shows "last sync" was 2 days ago. No steps, heart rate, sleep tracking info from the Ionic has been updated in my fitbit account and I'm not getting notifications.

Yep... Fitbit Ionic stopped synching (AGAIN) on the Pixel 2. For no apparent reason.

I called the HelpDesk when I first purchased the watch as it wouldn't synch again after the initial setup back in December. The HelpDesk chap was nice and we troubleshooted for about an hour, trying everything (reboot, reinstalling app, restarting the phone, pair/ unpair, forget device etc). Then he finally gave up and told me that the Ionic wasn't fully supported by the Pixel 2, and it was stated on the Fitbit website.

I was upset and annoyed of course, but as I could still get the data by logging via my laptop and still see all of my data, I didn't return the Ionic.

And lo, and behold, it started to synch again. I did absolutely nothing and it just started synching one day.

Now it stopped again this morning. I again have tried everything but last synch is still 8:34 am.

Really Fitbit, please just throw a few engineers at this and fix the darn bug.

I have pixel 2 and just purchased the Fitbit icinic...there is no communication between the two.  The only way I could activate my uconic was by connecting it to my computer, after hours of reading the same problem from other unsatisfied customers.
