Grey Screen

Had the ionic since the Christmas they launched. On 4th September noticed the screen was blank (thought id maybe not charged it properly) came home put on charger, synced to phone and the battery is full. The Ionic seems to be working fine except the screen. Ive never swam with it, take it off in the shower, its not been dropped etc - the display screen is just simply grey. I have tried rebooting with the buttons which it seems to do just with no display screen.

Is there a solution for this ? Or is my ionic now obsolete?

Or is my ionic now obsolete?

Gone I'm afraid. Wife's first Versa did the same. Just a very dim grey display. Still sent data to her phone though. Every few months I charge it up and go through the 2 and 3 finger restart. No go. It's dead.

IIRC, swimming probably killed hers. But they also die out of the water.

Update:

Raised issue via DM on twitter was told to do all the things ive done reset, got told to try the update but ionic has stopped syncing. got told customer services would be intouch by email. I hadnt heard by today so went on live chat to be told the orders team will be in touch via email regarding warranty information.

So not very hopeful of a positive customer experience in exchange for 5 years worth of data from me.

Yeah, my Ionic died after 2.5 years of regular use, Fitbit offered me a 35% discount on a Charge, and suggested I pay for an extended warranty next time (which wouldn't have helped anyway). Thanks, I guess? Looking at other non-Fitbit options now.

Although your tracker is outside the scope of Fitbit's warranty terms, we want to offer you the following: 35% discount on a new Fitbit

Use the link below at any time in the next 30 days and the discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

If they were offering 35% on a new Ionic or a Sense, I'd consider that reasonable. But for a Charge or whatever? Ugh. Sh*te is right.
