The top left HR window on my Ionic has cracked. This is the same place where my wife's Ionic failed. I can see just the slightest bit of condensation beginning to build up inside and the corners of the display are starting to dim. Exactly how her's began to fail.
Has anyone else had this experience?
I was skeptical that the plastic would hold up over time when I first got the watch and it looks like my suspicions were correct.
I love the watch otherwise and have had zero other issues. I believe the HR window should be made of a more resilient material.
At this point I'm thinking about other smartwatch options.... the first thing I will look for is the material on the back!

I've had an Ionic for over a year and a half now and that bad boy has sustained some heavy damage. I got the screen scratched and once the watch fell on a very rough concrete floor and bounced several times, which got the very resiliant aluminum case to scratch as well (lol).
The heart rate sensor, however, has never cracked/scratched/etc. Do you perhaps use any sort of lotion or creams on your wrist that has come in contact with the Ionic? According to Fitbit's wear and care, direct contact with these things can damage the device.

I've used insect repellent and sunblock occasionally but not regularly and I've tried to be sure and clean off the back of the watch afterward.

...aaand now it's officially dead. It won't boot up. Even holding the buttons to force a restart. 😟
