I've just upgraded after a year of using a Blaze religiously. I track everything and have had substantial success in losing fat and building muscle. As a reward I've upgraded to an Ionic and do love the look, feel and overall superior quality of the watch but after my first 48 hours I have my concerns....
The HR seems to be reading much higher than it should during excersising and thus providing skewed calorie results meaning intake tracking in turn will be inaccurate. I've been able to compare exact walks and weights sessions between the two watches (this week's vs last week's) and I really think my concerns are warranted. So am I now lead to believe my Blaze was showing a lessor HR than it should have been or that my Ionic is showing more than it should, unfortunately I'm sure it's the latter. Though what's interesting is that the resting HR seems to have stayed consistent.
Has anyone experienced the same when switching devices over to an Ionic or does anyone have any suggestions?
Also am I correct in that they haven't 'turned on' the newer red light HR sensor part of the Ionic and it is still using just the green light?

After going through the same feeling I concluded (after exhaustive comparisons and deliberations) that there may be an opportunity in IONIC and promptly returned IONIC. I think Blaze was reasonable.
You can either wait for a potential fix in future or return now and buy later. I am afraid it may very well not be fixable by software alone and I didn't want to bet a 300$ for that.
