Heart Rate readings when moving

Hi everybody.
Is is just me or are others also experiencing this:

FYI, had the same experience with the charge HR2.

Whenever I'm moving around I can see that the HR readings are way out of expected ranges for the activity I'm engaging in at the moment. Stepping in place can get the readings up to 170 when I'm pretty sure it's no where near a 100 or even 80 for that matter. When I'm climbing the stairs and gasping for air after six floors its saying hr 79 or even lower. Walking can do the same thing most cases way of in the sense that its guessing it way to high.

I changed from Charge HR to Ionic in the hope that the new sensors would be better but it turns out the red lasers are still disabled. Will readings become better with those activated?

More important is it just me? I don't read a lot about these out of control readings. (and yes I have checked them with chest straps)..

So far, I have found the ionic's heart rate monitor is accurate (at least more than the one on the Alta HR).

Even while swimming (without using the swim mode), it has recorded heart rate information, though I'm not entirely sure if that would be as accurate as while doing other activities.

Though basic, make sure to check the heart rate help site: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1565

Putting the ionic up your wrist seems to improve its accuracy.
