Hourly Step Goal Reminder Notification Intermittently Missing...!!!

On my ionic, I noticed that Hourly Step Goal Reminder Notification Intermittently Missing. In other words, sometime I get reminder to complete pending steps and sometime I don't. For example - last couple of hours back, I didn't have 250 steps completed, but app / watch never sent me reminders.

Is there a way, we can see previous reminders to confirm, if they may have come but I missed?

Assuming you mean the missing notifications, I have a case open now on that and was a major reason I developed the clockface.  Support is isn't making any progress on it - just keeps asking me to do the same steps over and over.

1 - steps today this hour circle has 3 / 4 different colors, can you indicate significance for each one?

The sweep of the yellow line shows your progress towards your daily step goal (e.g. 10,000).  The yellow line turns green if you make your daily goal.  And the dots show which hours you have achieved your Reminders to Move goals.  You get a red dot for each hour that you make your goal and the dots turn green if you get all of them.  So there are 3 colors (yellow, red and green), although I'm currently using 2 shades of green so technically there are 4. Smiley Happy

2 - If I have completed my daily step target (lets say 10,000 steps a day), will it still continue to remind for hourly steps as per schedule configured? I kind of noticed mixed behavior on this, hence checking. May be I didn't notice correctly but just wanted to confirm.

Yes, the hourly reminders are independent of the daily step goal.  So if you get your 10,000 steps early, it will still nag for you to move on other hours.  If you see any other behavior, please let me know.

Same happens to me all the time.

So I have to restart Ionic to have it notifying me about inactivity. All updates are installed BTW.

Any ideas?

Correction - restart not needed.

So, for example, today I'm in the office (and phone is nearby) but out of 4 h I only got 2 notifications.

Please fix or let us know what additional info is needed

I have only had my Ionic for 5 days, but I noticed the same thing. First, the notifications were never showing up. Worked with Support yesterday and finally started getting notifications, but not all the time. They had me do a number of steps - don’t remember them all, but some of it was to turn off Reminders in the app, sync, turn them back on, sync etc...

Did some close watching of it last night and I found that if I had zero steps in the hour, then I did not get a notification. This happens a lot during my work day - I could be seated for more than 1 hour straight... Later yesterday evening I only had a few steps in the hour and today almost 200 steps in the hour, and I got the notification both times. So,  I am not sure if this is the case, but the zero steps is my hunch...

My other issue is that there is no vibration when I get the notification. I have to watch the time and look at the screen, which defeats the purpose of the notification in my opinion. Calling Support about that today...

Could this be linked to the 'no notifications during sleep' setting?  ie if Starting_Over is correct and no notification is given if 0 steps are done in the hour, does the Fitbit think we're asleep?

I am having the same problem. Never get the reminder to move and rarely get vibration of texts and emails. I have only had it 2 days and it makes me sad.

This is my biggest annoyance at work. I continually get other notifications without issue but the reminder to move only sometimes goes off so I can never get a streak going. I'm setup to move for 13 hours and I'll only get the reminder 1/2 of 1/3rd of the time. Another coworker just got the Versa and it has the same problem.

I am the coworker @spacehorse mentioned. This has never worked properly on my Versa.

Other types of notifications work fine, this is purely an issue with the hourly movement reminders.

Restarting the device has no effect.

This is incredibly frustrating since giving notifications is the entire point of this feature.

Any updates to this? I experience the same behaviour on a Versa

Has anyone heard of a fix yet? Annoying problem after just spending £219.99 on the versa. Woman Sad

I think the problem is caused by the Fitbit thinking you're asleep and not wanting to disturb you if you are. Difficult balance to strike really

Interesting idea, but I feel like that's pretty unlikely. If it thought you were asleep you would expect that to show up in your sleep tracking, which it doesn't. One of the nice things about the device is that it's pretty spot-on with sleep tracking accuracy, I've never had it think I was asleep when I wasn't.

Also the fact that the reminder feature is set for user-specified "active hours" means that it shouldn't be designed to care about disturbing you in the first place b/c it wouldn't be active when you're sleeping anyway (if it is designed that way some poor dev wasted a bunch of their time on a counter-productive feature Smiley Tongue )

I have observed that notifications for hourly steps are not missing as much as it used to be, I am guessing this may be corrected in recent upgrades. However, I can't say for sure if this is 100% accurate now. Have to pay more attention and see how far it is improved.

I'm having the same problem and have a case open with Fitbit support.

FWIW, I just published a free clock face that helps with this and gives extra reminders, if needed, at 52, 54, 56 and 58 minutes. I frequently get my first reminder from this rather than from the Fitbit itself.

It is called "Move It!" and it is in the gallery.  Give it a try if it is appropriate for your usage.

I am liking it, reminds multiple times and overcomes an issue to a great extent (which FITBIT couldn't solve for more than a year now, not a good sign for FITBIT)

Thanks again, John. Couple of queries ---

1 - steps today this hour circle has 3 / 4 different colors, can you indicate significance for each one?

2 - If I have completed my daily step target (lets say 10,000 steps a day), will it still continue to remind for hourly steps as per schedule configured? I kind of noticed mixed behavior on this, hence checking. May be I didn't notice correctly but just wanted to confirm.
