Fitbit Ionic 27.72.1.9
My winter exercises include cross-country skiing and snow shoeing
Since there are no defined exercises for these activities I use "Hike"
Auto pause is annoying for winter activities because I have to stop and take off my gloves so I can access the watch to see if the exercise is paused.
Hike should not have an auto pause feature..
The only settings available are for Bike and Run which have auto pause disabled.

Hello @stevepogue and welcome to the Help forums. Other users report the same type of problem with all the smartwatches. I have a theory. I think there is arm movement that wakes the screen. Then the gloves put enough pressure to pause the exercise. My suggestion is to make sure the screen wake is on manual. I haven't had a chance to prove my theory. Haven't had enough snow the last two winters to snowshoe locally. Hike doesn't have an auto pause option -- that's why I have my theory.
