IONIC PACE VS. RACE RESULTS

I am a FITBIT IONIC user and just competed in a charity 5k.  I used the exercise tracking on my iphone FITBIT app in order to get my pace notifications along with a map and splits.  The total time was off by 1 second (understandable), the distance was off by .163 miles (5%), but the pace was off by almost 1 minute ??? Can someone please let me know why this is.  during the event i though i was doing better than i actually was.........

i have pictures of both my excercise (fitbit app), and my official race results but could not upload here

thanx

Just to clarify for people reading this, you're not using the Ionic to track your run but the Fitbit app on your iphone. Maybe try the iOS app forum as well with this question if you haven't already. As far as comparing average pace, there's only one way to calculate average pace- your total time divided by your distance. Race=3.107 miles and your iphone/app=3.270 miles. If you ran it in 30 minutes you'd see a difference of 29 seconds in pace or in 40 minutes you'd see a difference of 38 seconds in pace. What time did you run it in?

RACE RESULTS = 3.107mi IN 48:47 / 15.42/MI PACE

AND THANKS, I WILL BE POSTING THIS ON THE IOS APP FORUM.

The difference in distance between the race results and your iphone/app is why there's a difference of almost a minute in pace. Should work out to a 47 second difference.

As far as I can tell, the phone with the Fitbit app, and the Charity App to also record the run. Why not use the GPS that is on the wrist, to record the run for Fitbit.
