Increasing backlight duration

Hi, I just bought a Fitbit Iconic as my first fitbit, and hope I haven't wasted my time with a slight overlook in my research.

I need to know, is there a way to increase the duration the clockface stay lit up? As I work as a paramedic I need it on for at least 15 seconds to check heart rates and respiratory rates many times throughout the day, and without this ability the watch is useless for me.

I see that a certain clock face has a built in stop watch that allows this, but that doesn't work as I also need to know the time for drug doses and documentation, and won't be able to constantly switch between the 2.

No it doesnt. But it does have a timer app that you can set for 15 seconds and it will vibrate at the end of the set period. That may work for you - you'd  need to play with it a bit to find out. But the screen wont stay o except during some workouts I believe you have that option.

In the latest firmware @NellyG and @Husky312 there is the option to have the screen on for 15secs. Scroll across to the Ionic’s settings and there you can set Backlight 10, 15 or 20 seconds

Mine doesn't have those settings, and I only bought/updated it today. Is there a way to force another update I might be missing?

Ah @NellyG and @Husky312 must be the next production firmware. I’m on the development release.

Ahh OK that makes sense. I am on 27.25.16.7 which as far as I know is the latest one. Well I await the update with interest!

The Fitbit Ionic has the option to increase backlight duration up to 60 seconds. You swipe the screen across until you set the "settings" icon and then scroll down to the "display awake" option. Tapping on this should let you choose between 10, 15, 20, 45 & 60 second durations.
