Is there any way to run an interval timer in the run mode instead of workout mode? I want to be able to track distance and pace and use the interval timer while I run.

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner. Currently, it's not possible to have an interval in the run mode. However, I found this idea Running Feature: Ionic Interval training, those are viewed by our engineers and developers and new features are implemented based in your comments.

Like being able to do couch25k/10k using the fitbit instead of having headphones in would be amazing then I can do it with my friends and actually be able to hear and speak to her 😁

It's great to have you here @TrainAmanda! Totally, that would be amazing. Have you voted or comment for this idea Running Feature: Interval Training for Fitbit Watches? Those are reviewed by our engineers and developers.

PLEASE!!!! I am a run/walk Jeff Galloway style runner and the fact that I can't do this on my fitbit is crazy to me!

I do the Galloway method as well, and I just set up my Fitbit Versa to time the intervals (i.e. run 2 min / walk 30 sec).  I went into the Interval Timer settings on the computer where you can customize the top stat (run) and bottom stat (walk).  Factory settings are set up at 00:30 and 00:10, but you can customize this to whatever you want.  Perfect!

Are you able to use the gps while using the interval timer?

Yes you can! I did a dry run having it on, just walking around in my house,
and it tracked all the red squiggly locations. Bonus!

Are you able to see your pace?

Yes, you can! You can see your pace, the time, the countdown time, your
miles, heartrate, etc. You can select the things you want to see in your
Fitbit settings online.

Hey there, I know this post is old but I'm setting up intervals. Is there any way to get it over 49 repeats? Or does it start over? What if my workout/race/run is more time than that?

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to increase the # of intervals, but
what I started using is an app called "RunGo". You can customize any
run/walk interval you want and it will just keep looping until you're run
is done. I used it for a 6 hour run back in the fall. You can either have
your phone volume on, or earbuds, because a voice will tell you when to
walk and when to run. Good luck!

Thank you! I guess I got spoiled with Garmin and I'm surprised that workarounds have to be done with Fitbit. I really want to keep all my activities on one tracker and I like some of the Fitbit features however this is (to me) kind of big and it seems like it'd be a fairly easy feature request to be able to fulfill. Since Fitbit needs my phone anyway for GPS purposes, I guess I will try it this way and see how it goes. Thank you again!

I know this is old but I’m still shocked they haven’t implemented this as there is so many people who use interval running rather than long distance running. It’s an awful nuisance not being able to track it efficiently
