It is too easy to accidentally pause an exercise. I'm trying to map out my favorite hike and have failed the last three times because I accidentally pause the hike when climbing over a log or up a steep part of the trail. There should be a two-factor action to pause, just like how to end the activity - press pause then 'ok' on the screen. Or just remove the pause from the hiking activity - not sure what it would be used for.

@Pelle Move watch to the right arm. This way the side with single button will be facing your wrist and pausing won't be so easy. I know it is a workaround but waiting for Fitbit to improve something is like waiting for pigs to fly. Fitbit is striving to improve while competitors actually improve their products ( like simple screen/button lock function available in all major smartwatches and fitness trackers ).

I was thinking of doing that, but it would be like resigning to the design flaw. 🙂

@Pelle true but it's either this or nothing. If accidental pause is annoying what will you say knowing that while swimming with Ionic the water interacts with the display and also causes accidental pauses. Lock feature is essential for such device yet it never crossed Fitbit engineers mind that it should be implemented from the very beginning. As users we either work with what we are given or switch to the competitor that delivers essential features. It's a no brainer really 🙂

I too support @Pelle's request for FitBit to come up with a solution to prevent accidental pause during activities.
I regular attend Fight Klub, it's a highly intense aerobic class hitting a punch bag to music.
In the few very brief breaks we get for a swig of water, I often find I accidently knock the pause button whilst taking off or putting on my boxing glove.
It would be great if FitBit provided an upgrade so that the pause button requires a double click? or needs to be held for a continuous 10 seconds?
Maybe another idea could be to sell an accessory of a perspex guard to clip over the watch preventing the buttons being pressed, to be used whilst on an activity?
