Ionic Band falling off

My new Ionic came with the large band attached.  As I switched to the smaller band one section keeps coming apart.  I've read the suggestions and it still doesn't work.  I switched back to one section of the band and it stays on.  My conclusion is that the small band is defective.  I contacted Customer Support and they said that they do not have the small bands in stock and they want me to send the entire unit.  This is not acceptable.  I just want a new small band.

Have you checked if the small band is properly secured? You need to make sure you hear the pin 'click' to know that it's secured.

Yes I’ve checked this. The large band works properly but not the small one. The customer service people want me to send the whole thing back for evaluation. I know that this process will take weeks. I am not happy withFit BIt.

Just got mine yesterday and today it started falling off today, I'm using that strap that was on it to start with. I'm going to play around some more and then if it keeps happening I will contact Fitbit.

I have the very same problem with the small wrist band, your post says this has been solved for you, how was it solved? Between this band problem and the problem of it pausing during work outs I'm very disappointed with the Ionic, its looks good but if it doesn't stay on or track my work out then it fails to do what it's supposed to do, annoyed....

I returned the entire unit. I bought a new one through Kohls and got $60 of Kohls cash. Right now Fit Bit has a sale. After getting this solved I am happy with my Ionic.

Thanks for the quick response, So you purchased another Ionic and you didn’t have the same problem?

Correct! I had some difficulty putting the small band on but my husband was able to do it without a problem. I have been using it for about a month now and have not had any issues.

Thanks, I’ll give it another few days, see if it stays on this time, failing that I’ll look for a replacement

My suggestion is to find someone like me in your community who doesn't wear the small band and trade them their small for your large.

Thank you for your suggestion but I believe that the company must stand behind their product. This is not a cheap item. I returned the defective fit bit and got a new one.

I had the exact same problem.  I took it back to best buy and we tested a brand new unopened box.  Same result. The small band will not attach .  I returned the product

I am not sure if your problem has been 'solved'. I just had an iconic close to a year now but within the one year, I have already had my iconic replaced (due to 'faulty battery'. Both iconic had the same issue i.e. Bands would not stay, falling off for no reason! I have written to customer support and they said fitbit is trying their best to improve their product by  testing and 'improving' their products. I would argue that fitbit should get the most basic function of a wristband right i.e. for the unit to stay around your wrist and not having to fall off everytime - then eventually, you lose it! Fitbit - please come out and take responsibility on this obvious design flaw!

I too have had recurring problems with the small band on the Ionic. At one point, I had to wear it so loose that it could no longer register my pulse in order to keep the band from popping off my wrist at the junction between the band and the watch face. I have properly attached the band, with that satisfying clicking into place but I now believe that this is a design flaw that Fitbit has failed to adequately address. They actually told me that no one has reported this problem. Good to hear that there are others out there experiencing the exact same issue as me!

So with the new one, the band no longer has a problem?

Nope. Exact same problem occurred with new band, new watch. I think this is a defect with the small band on a small wrist.

My FitBit is now good to go. I got another Fit Bit Ionic from Kohls. I knew that the return policy is good and easy to deal with so I purchased a new one there. I have not had a problem with the new one.
