Ionic Bluetooth Volume Too Low While Using Airpods

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Anyone else having the issue when you sync your AirPods to the Fitbit iconic the volume doesn’t get high enough? When I sync them to my phone the volume goes all the way up. But when I sync the headphones to the iconic the headphones volume only goes up to Labours half the power as when connected to the phone? Before Fitbit admins come in, I’ve already tried repairing/restarting/factory restoring everything. Kind of annoying paying 300 bucks for horrible Bluetooth sound if I still need my phone to drown out the gym noises.

@Jawarren21 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are are experiencing with Ionic music volume control while using AirPods.

Whenever this happens, are you able to control the volume? or it will stay like that all the time?

I'd recommend the following:

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

I’m unable to control the volume of my AirPods with my Ionic either and they are very quiet. I’ve restarted my ionic and resynced the AirPods, no luck.

Wish this would get fixed, I see plenty of threads discussing the issue but none of the fixes seem to work.

@ccwcrun167 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for reporting that you are also experiencing this. Also, thank you for trying the steps to sort this out.

Our team has received the feedback from everyone in this thread and is working to investigate these reports further. I will share updates from the team when I hear them. Thanks to everyone for your reports and understanding. In the meanwhile, you could try the workaround once again and check if that will help.

I tried that, it didn’t help. The volume seems to be only go to about 2/3ds power. I can turn the volume up and down..it just doesn’t get loud. So I have to sync it to my phone. Which defeats the purpose..

This has been an issues with AirPods for way too long.  They keep telling me that they are working on it. It has been 6 months now. I don't think anyone is working on it or they will come up with a fix about the time the watch is obsolete  Can somebody give us a clear answer in what the f#@$! Is going in and when there will be a fix for this. To be honest Fitbit is looking like an anyamat player and If they don't come up with a solution soon, the competitors will swallow them up.  Sorry to be negative, but I can't stand incompetence.

It doesn’t, the volume with the AirPods is half at best. What’s the sense, I bought the ionic to I don’t have to take my phone.

 This needs a fix, fast.

Obviously I have the same problem but I managed to get the right sound through twice today with my Ionic Watch, so it is definitely possible. The first time I connected to an unknown iPhone and suddenly after connecting to the watch again I had the same sound as through my own phone. Went straight to the gym and opened the training app and the whole watch crashed lol.. So it worked for like 10 minutes.. The second time I simply unconnected my phone to the airpods and connected it to the watch and it worked for like 10 seconds until I pressed restart song. Tried over and over again afterwards but not working anymore..

It is indeed ridiculous that we pay 277 euro for a watch and 180 euro for airpods and you cant even sync your music through the watch XD. Strange that the moderators not trying to fix the problem instead of telling us that re-pair bullsh*t.

Will keep trying tho

I'm normally not one to write reviews or jump on a hate train, but this issue is so frustrating I would've never bought a fitbit had I known the volume wouldn't be remotely loud when synced with airpods. I have people ask me if I like my fitbit ionic, and I always end with don't get it if you want to run without a phone cuz the volume is so low. Seriously fitbit, get it together.

Same why won’t fitbit fix this problem. I don’t want to bring my phone running, I just want the volume controls on my ionic to actually work with my AirPods. Literally everything else works fine. This problem seems to go back to the middle of late year. I just got a replacement ionic and new AirPods in August of 2019 anddddddd same problem still -_-

Dear fitbit

I just bought fitbit ionic yesterday and found problem with my Apple AirPod sound is very low with watch music.  Could you please help me to sort out this issue. This embarrassing that fitbit is not compatible with apple device. It look like I have wasted my money on it.
