I am about to start swimming more regularly and want to listen to music as I'm doing it.
Bluetooth signal doesn't travel far underwater and that is why most underwater headphones are actually MP3 players and not bluetooth headphones.
However, with the Ionic being close to my head when swimming, I wondered if anyone had tried this with actual bluetooth headphones and does it work? Is the Ionic bluetooth strong enough to reach the earbuds/ headphones?
If so, which earbuds/ headphones are you using?
Fitbit - have you tried this when swimming and does the bluetooth connection work underwater?

Welcome to the community @Rolls76 are you asking about the Fitbit Flyer Headphones?

I have the fitbit flyer headphones and they are great but I am going to start swimming and they aren't waterproof.
My question is about the Ionic and will the Bluetooth be strong enough to reach a pair of bluetooth waterproof earphones underwater from the Ionic on my wrist? I'm aware that Bluetooth doesn't travel far underwater.
I wondered if anyone had tried this with an Ionic?

Hello @Rolls76 and @Rich_Laue.
@Rolls76 As you indicated, Bluetooth doesn't travel well in water. As such we cannot guarantee that it will work properly, or that it won't. If you do give it a shot, please let us know how it goes.
Let us know if there are any further questions.

I tried it tonight and the bluetooth on the Ionic does not seem strong enough to work while swimming.

Probably so, and add that water is better at transmitting lower frequencies. During the war submarines used radio frequencies below the humans hearing range.
