There are a load of topics where the same answer is given.
ive tried everything suggested and it’s still not working.
hard reset, remove app and restart, set up the ionic from scratch.
and all this started the day after I installed the newest firmware
how can I solve my problem or shall I throw it in the bin and buy one that works?

If you're experiencing syncing issues please confirm to have tried this troubleshooting. Also confirm the OS installed on your phone is compatible with Fitbit products, which should be one of the following operating systems:
