Ionic Bluetooth setup broken

Hi,

I had an ionic for over a year with no issues, it randomly died last week, got sent a replacement, it took over 6 hours to initially connect to it to do the pairing and update (was stuck saying my phone couldnt find the tracker, twice it briefly appeared to connect, for a second or so and then went back to saying the tracker couldnt be found). Eventually it did find it and managed to do the initial setup, but as soon as the update was finished it went back to being completely unable to sync or be found. Checking in bluetooth connections it wasnt listed as a connected device at all, and if you scanned for nearby bluetooth devices it did not come up at all. (tried scanning for it on many devices to make sure it wasnt just my phone that coundn't see the tracker) I assume the Ionic's bluetooth should appear as visible to nearby devices? I went through all the troubleshooting guides on here and the rest of the internet to no avail so decided to factory reset it and delete it from my app to try again...

Now back to square one again, and it is again stuck on the initiial setup splash screen, with neither my phone (pixel 3) or my laptop (windows 10) can find it to do the setup, no amount of restarts on either devices, reinstalls of the app has made a difference. I know theres android 9 issues, but my previous ionic had no problems at all with my phone on its current OS until it died, Coupled with the Ionic not being visible to any other devices and neither phone nor PC can see it makes me think the bluetooth module on the ionic is completely or intermittantly broken out of the box, rendering it useless? Quite alarming how many people on here seem to have issues with the ionic!

Thanks,

Tom

My only thought is that the phones Bluetooth is not suppose to find the ionic.

May I ask what the status is now?

Have you updated the Fitbit app?

Cleared the phones cache?

Restarted both the phone and the ttacker?

At what step of the setup process does the failure accuse occur? Do you receive an error massage?

Status of the tracker is it's still stuck on the "go to fitbit.com/setup" splash screen,
Yep, I updated the app, (no change) then cleared the cache, (no change) then deleted and reinstalled the app (most recent update), and still not able to connect. I have done the same on my windows PC too and that cant find it, tried adding it to a friends fitbit app today and he couldnt find it either.

I cant even get to the 4 digit pin bit of the process, on the app it just says 'Is your Ionic powered on', and then times out and asks to retry.
