I have the new ionic now for about a week and so far i'm impressed.
The question I have is whether there is a way on the actual fitbit itself to choose other exercise activities other than run, bike, swim, treadmill, weights, interval trainer and workout? The reason I ask is, I play hockey and wear my Ionic while playing and don't really know what to set my exercise to when i get on the ice? I know I can manually set it on my fitbit app but there should be a way of doing it on the actual fitbit and maybe there is and I just haven't figured it out. I play soccer in the summer months and I assume I will have the same issue.

Go onto your fitbit account fitbit.com. Select/click the settings/gear icon. Click on the Ionic tab. Scroll down to Exercise Shortcuts and there's more to exercises to choose. You can also change the order they are presented on your watch. Enjoy!

Funny how there are some options in the settings that I wouldn't think would be there but then like hockey or soccer are not in the list

Hi @darnellb2003 - Your Ionic will, in all likelihood log hockey as "sports" which is the generic exercise that it logs, outside of the six specific activities.

I just got mine yesterday after using Samsung and Garmin before that. Had tried blaze but HR tracking was way off.
So far so good with the Ionic! It's a nice form factor too. The Adidas version band is really nice.
My only gripe is along the lines of what you've pointed out - lack of exercises on the unit itself. It's limited to only 7 choosable exercises, and anyone who is more than a couch potato will find the choices lacking. I'm still trying to figure out why there is such a restriction. Very curious.
Well, if that's the only problem I could live with swapping exercises out on the app, however it's ridiculous that a modern piece of equipment like this is so limited...especially for the price tag! Others costing much less offer many more choices...C'mon Fitbit!

Hi @Skyclad - You are correct... You are limited to the 7 at any given time. I keep the 7 that I am most likely to use on my Ionic and change them out as needed, but that isn't frequent. I hope you enjoy your new tracker!
