Hi!
My ionic GPS tracking is ridiculously inaccurate.
As you can see in this picture.
My wife also uses an ionic and her tracking is perfect.
What could I do to solve this.
This way, it is useless.

Hi,
I had the same issue. My GPS didn't work at all. I had a steel watch band and that interfered with the GPS. I now use the rubber bands and it's works perfectly again. I hope that will help!!!

I’m finding the Ionic to be consistently about .03 off per mile when I run with my Ionic and my phone. It’s a route I know that I’ve driven to map out, mapped online, and mapped with multiple devices (phones and watches) so I know the Ionic is the problem. Oddly enough my old Ionic (which became a brick and Fitbit replaced) was really accurate, this new one note so much.
Any have any suggestions or know how to calibrate this?

Hi!
I use a steel band.
I am gonna change it to the original and give it a try.
It is a strange bug, but I am going to give it a try.
Update you tomorrow.
Thanks!

I'm already using the sport band so that's not it, my Ionic is simply 3-4% off in distance. It's fairly consistent so at least I know what to expect. I did send the data to Fitbit hoping they would want to know so they could improve their OS. The answer was essentially it is what it is but we can give feedback to the development team. Not a huge issue, if I cared that much I'd bring my phone. Hopefully they can build some logic into the next OS update to improve GPS accuracy.

Thanks!
Changed back to the rubber band and now it works normally.
I was using a steel band with a magnetic lock.
I didn't imagine it could interfere with the tracker.

Glad that worked.
I ended up performing a factory reset and starting over. Took some time but now the difference is more like 1-2%, and at the difference it could be the phone understating a distance. I'm happy with 1-2% as long as that holds and I don't have to wipe out the Ionic and start over every few months

I have a metal replacement band and huge accuracy issues. From an engineering perspective, I could possibly see that whatever antenna is internal to the watch could be affected by a metal band. The band could reflect the signal maybe in some way. I think I have an extra rubber band, Ill try today. I have a running app on my phone, for a 5 mile run it sometimes a mile off.

a metal band may affect the internal antenna. Never even considered that when I changed the band.

Hi All,
I've recently started walking with a housemate of mine and have been tracking our walks on our respective GPS devices. We have noticed a consistent discrepancy between her device (A Garmin of some sort) and my Fitbit Ionic.
The fitbit consistently over-reads distances to notable degree... Today for instance, we walked circa 3.38Miles, according to ploting the route on Google, The Garmin unit recorded approx 3.4Miles which I consider to be pretty good all things considered, however my Fitbit recorded over a mile extra at 4.48Miles.
When checking the GPS map produced for the dashboard, I can understand why, the GPS appears to be going on a magical mystery tour all over the place, rather than walking in anything approaching a straight line (please see below pic) down the road as I was actually walking.
I'm still using the original plastic band, so not sure its the same issue as been reported in the rest of this thread, anyone got any other ideas?
Cheers
Crim

I'm new to Ionic and fitbit as well. Where do I locate the GPS function to see my walks or bicycle rides?
Thanks!
