I have tried everything I can do to get the GPS to work. My partner has a new Ionic and his is acquiring location within 30 seconds. We can stand side by side in the parking lot together and his acquires but mine won't. Mine is about 1 year old.
I have deleted my ionic from my mobile app and phone bluetooth, then logged off the app and deleted the app from my phone. I then did a factory reset on my ionic, re installed the app on my phone and logged in. Then "added" the ionic back to my account.
Still no GPS.
At this point I have a very expensive paperweight.
Can someone help me?

If acquiring GPS takes too long then usually it helps to restart tracking the activity. Yesterday, during my run it took 12 minutes for GPS to connect so you are not alone with the issue. You may try to reboot the device before tracking. Some users claim it helps. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything else you can do but contact customer support.

Hello @SunsetRunner thanks for bringing this to my attention, let me help you with your GPS concern. It's nice to see you both participating again in the Community Forums @SunsetRunner. My apologies for the delay in responding.
Seems odd that the built-in GPS of your Ionic is not working as the way we designed it, thanks for trying some troubleshooting steps prior to posting. Let me share with you that when you select a GPS exercise, Ionic should vibrate when it finds a GPS signal but environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover can interfere with your watch's ability to connect to GPS satellites.
For best results, wait for Ionic to find the signal before you start your workout. However, if you don't want to wait you can start your workout and GPS tracking begins when Ionic finds a signal. I recommend you to restart your device to refresh its performance following the steps that are specified on: How do I restart my Fitbit device? and also take in consideration the helpful information that was shared by @SunsetRunner.
See you around.

I have to agree with @SunsetRunner. Fitbit needs to take responsibility for a glitch in the program and just fix it. Obviously there is a problem when two people are standing side by side in a parking lot and one ionic connects while the other one doesn't. Can't be trees, buildings or clouds. Humm....must be a program issue. JUST FIX IT for crying out loud.

I have the same problem. I'm sure it is not trees, clouds or tall buildings. I was thinking at first it was a power problem because when I fist started having GPS connection problems it seemed to only do it when the battery was below 85% but now it won't connect even at 97%. I've tried the SURGE and now the ICONIC and am very disappointed. When I get a chance to research it I will be looking for an alternative. I really like the dashboard but it doesn't do it for me if the watch doesn't work right. Good luck with finding an answer.
