Ionic LG G6 compatibility

I purchased the new Ionic smart watch fitness tracker yesterday and then found out it is not compatible with my LG G6 phone.  The phone was released in February 2017.  Is there anyway to find out if Fitbit will support my phone?  I really like the ionic and would love for it to be compatible with my phone. Especially since it has capability to track swim distance since I am a swim coach.   I am unable to get notifications sync music and use fitbit apps on the watch.  Should I return and find a smart watch that is compatible or wait it out?  I have 29 more days to return it to the store.  Currently it is in the box until I make a decision.  I thought about getting another phone briefly but the cost of a new phone and the $300 I already spent on the ionic is not worth it.  Plus I LOVE my phone and it stills feels brand new.  Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated! I would, love to hear if someone has had a similar issue and it was resolved by their device being added to the supported list.

Thank you!

The list is not accurate.

I don't know if you can return the watch after opening the box, but if you can you should open it and try...

Btw, check topics about swim distance in the forum. I don't swim, but i have seen discussions about the swimming pool lenght that you have to enter in the app and also that it is not accurate if you swim without using arms.

Personnally, i have a s7 edge, so on the list, and have problems with notifications.

I have seen people using phones not on the list that have no problem at all.

Maybe someone around with the same phone that the one you have will give you an input about their experience.

I'm glad that I searched google for Ionics compatibility with the LG G6 and found this post.  I was about to buy an Ionic because the strap to my surge 2 snapped off for the third time and I was fed up with super-gluing it together.

My surge 2 is compatible via bluetooth. There appears to be no nonsense about what model. So I'm shocked that the Ionic is bothered by what make the phone is.  I then found the compatibility list and am surprised that the LG g1, g2 and g3 are the only compatible LG watches.  Are they even on the market still?

Until these watches are compatible, I can't buy this watch, its back to the superglue.  Which is a shame as I was very tempted.

I have an LG G6 and an ionic and can sync it.  I do have problems syncing every now and then but I just restart my ionic and then restart my phone and that seems to sort it. Not sure why you can't buy I am in the UK.

Thanks for the confirmation.  I've had a charge and this surge, and familiar with the random non-syncing problem.  So at least it works in some respect.  I'll be picking one up next month.
