Ionic Not Receiving Notifications After 3.0 Android Update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Starting on Thursday 7.11.19 after a recent Android update I am no longer receiving notifications to my tracker.  All notification setting are enabled on my phone and tracker and in the app.  A customer service rep told me yesterday Fitbit has confirmed that it is in fact due to this update and their engineers are working on it.  Can anyone else confirm they are having issues and does anyone know of a timetable on a resolution?

On both of my set ups. It says notification service is not running and a restart is needed.

However this does nothing.

But I still get call notification and if I send a test notification this works too

Deleting the Fitbit device returns normal service but only for and hour or so.

Ionic on a 6t and charge 2 on z2 play.

Both worked fine before the last update with the new dashboard.

I just did a factory reset and notifications appear to be working again.
Question is...for how long. I'll update later with results. Trying to
determine if this is a tracker hardware issue or a Fitbit service system
issue.

As an update to my original post and hopefully not to jinx it but my Ionic continues to receive notifications after the factory reset and uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.

I did the same, thought it was fixed.

Just noticed it is back on "restart required" only receiving call texts.

I haven't checked the other phone.

I didn't sign up for beta testing anyway. 😂

Good job Fitbit.

Had Ionic ten days now. Still can't get notifications from windows 10, my iPhone 8, my newest Android phone and my old Nexus7 tablet.

Oh ya also music doesn't work on any of my platforms either for personal music.

Whose next?

Tried a factory reset. Deleting device, deleting app and data and re installation.

Notification works for a while then asks for phone restart.

Just been an update, still the same.

I had hoped things would get better with Fitbit. Old hardware (hence battery life) appalling software, there are threads 2 years old without resolution. I liked the idea of Fitbits business model but for whatever reason that seems to have nosedived from build a community to let's spend the profit advertising to replace all the people that are leaving us.

Ordered a non Fitbit replacement.

Truly had enough of this.
