Ionic Not Recording Activities Automatically

My new ionic is not picking up my time on the elliptical machine with smart tracking. Also, it is not registering an increase in activities  like hitting golf balls or time on a rowing machine.  My Charge 2 never failed at smart tracking and it would also register increased activity such as those mentioned above (usually would say something like "sport".  Feeling a little frustrated.

@lhfrey Welcome to the Fitbit family! That is strange! Are your elliptical activities more than 10 minutes long? The standard setting is that it will track it if the activity is longer than 10 minutes.

I'd recommend performing a restart on your Ionic. That should certainly help out with this.

You can manually log your rowing and golf activities if you would like to see them on your exercise history.

You can also set Golf to your exercise short cuts on your Ionic. You can make these changes on your settings.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Thank you. I know about the manual logging. I’ll try restarting and let you know. I’ve looked at settings, but i’ll Check again for golf. Thanks again.

@lhfrey You are very welcome, thanks for your reply! That sounds good, please let me know how you go about that.

To add Golf to your Exercise Short Cut do the following:

  • Open the Fitbit App.
  • Tap the Ionic's tile (on top left corner).
  • Swipe down and tap Exercise Shortcuts.
  • Tap Edit on top right corner and delete any exercise you don't use.
  • Tap "+ Exercise Shortcut" and a list of exercised will appear.
  • Search Golf and add it.
  • Sync your Ionic.
  • Try the Golf shortcut.

That should help you out for sure. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
