You’re not pursuing a Fitbit Ionic you are only leasing it just like a new car after the lease has ended you have nothing. The only difference is that the Fitbit Ionic you purchase in advance at $249.99
In my case after shelling out the purchase price it only lasted 18 months and if you do the math that’s $13.88 a month.
It was suggested to me from a manager from the Fitbit Community that I contacted the support team and that’s what did. I did everything that was requested by the support team and failed all their tests. They verified my account, an then told me that I was Beyond the 365 day warranty. However they could offer me a 25% discount off the purchase price of a new one and that was the only thing they could do for me. I told them that was not reasonable offer for me and I wouldn’t be taking them up on that offer.
Ok so let’s to the math again of the original purchase price of $249.99 plus the purchase of the replacement cost of$249.99-25%=$187.49
Now if you add them two together $249.99+187.49=$437.49 for what? Something that at best could last another year? I think not!
So here are the facts you can draw your own conclusions of where you wold like to spend your money.
My money is better spent with a different company.

My mother had the same thing happen with her fitbit charge3. After 1 year and 5 months, it just died. She also called and was offered the 25% discount. So she asked for a supervisor and they are sending her a new one free of charge. Go up the chain if you want results!

All right so maybe I Don’t have all the answers but I can tell you what I do know. no one seems to have any idea or willing to admit that the Fitbit Ionic has issues. This current issue has a similarity in the dates and we can narrow it down to hardware or software. It seems like they have manufacturing defects and only has a life expectancy of approximately 14 to 18 months based on reading of the comments on community forms. This sounds like planned obsolescence!
This is Similar to refrigerators and freezers that grandparents had or perhaps your parents had they were manufactured to last 12 to 15 years.
So my conclusion is that Fitbit company is your drug dealer and the drug is the Fitbit Ionic. You become so consumed about getting your steps in, winning competitions and monitoring your health that when it craps out, you go through withdrawals, depression, lack of sleep over eating Because you have no idea how many steps taken over the course of the day.
