Ionic Resting Heart Rate Too High

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yet again I've been in touch with Fitbit via chat today, regarding the erratic resting heart rate reading at rest and insisted they do something about this issue which has been prevalent for about 6 months on my Ionic. They readily admitted there is an issue and that they are 'working on it' but refused to elaborate or resolve my issue by way of repair or replacement, their reason? it wouldn't make any difference. I translate this to mean, this is an issue embedded in the watch design/firmware itself. When insisting they replace the watch or compensate me, they provided a typical and very craven response stating I should return it where i purchased- I would but its out of warranty from last month. This typifies companies attitudes today, rather than admit there's an issue and fix it, they hide behind a screen, giving a non committal response rather than be honest and provide a satisfactory solution, as this wouldn't be in the shareholders interest. The ironic thing is they did admit this is an issue but still won't show the backbone to resolve it. I for one will never buy another fitbit as i want something reliable, they've lost a loyal customer who has purchased several over the years. Whether this issue is app/design or firmware related is not really relevant, the point is they don't want to help me, they just want me to go away. They've got their wish.

@lucidlarry Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to share the situation you are currently experiencing with Ionic resting heart rate readings so far. Thanks for contacting customer support regarding this and for sharing the information they have provided to you. I appreciate your feedback.

It's unfortunate to read that there is currently not a workaround for this situation. However, I'm glad the Fitbit team is aware of this and is investigating to get to the root cause of this and find a solution for you. I do understand this is not a solution for you, but the team is working to get this sorted as soon as possible.

Are the rest of the features of your watch working correctly?

I appreciate your patience on this. If I find out any updates regarding this; will definitely let you know.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
