Ionic Screen not opening on motion

Just replaced a 14 month old defective Iconic and noticed that on the new Ionic the screen no longer 'comes on' with an upward arm movement as prior unit did; I must press left button to access any screen info; i.e., time, heart rate, etc.  If there is there a setting for this, where do I find it?

Hold in left side button a few seconds;  look for 'Screen Wake'; tap to toggle on or off.
