Ionic Strava App not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been on a run and the data has synced to the Fitbit app and to my Strava phone app. But not to the ionic app. It says no recent activity.

I have been on the Fitbit app and gone to the ionic settings and authorised the Strava account. But when I go back to this bit it then says not authorised, what do I need to do to sync this data?

Incase anyone is still having this problem, I had it the whole time I had my Ionic. Yesterday, I want on the Strava website and changed my default activity to running, rather than cycling, and now the app on my watch works!

I'm not sure why cycling was default in Strava, but after that fix, and making sure Strava is authorized in the Fitbit app, it works perfectly.

I wanted to pass this along because it was very frustrating to me for a long time.

Hope that helps!

Same here unfortunately. I've had an Ionic since it was first released back in October last year and not once have I managed to get my runs to show on the Fitbit Strava App. I've tried everything multiple times over, authorised it both ways, synched, uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, factory reset the Fitbit at least once. I've even tried asking Fitbit for help and they just don't want to know beyond telling you to do what you've already tried. Most of the feedback I've given to Fitbit in the past hasn't been heard so I've pretty much given up now. The only thing I can put it down to is the fact I'm using a Windows Phone as although it's supposedly supported by Fitbit lots of things are a bit flaky such as Notifications which is another thing that has rarely worked for me. So unfortunately for me the Ionic still isn't worth the money I paid for it. Even something as simple as providing a way of temporarily locking the screen from the Fitbit itself so that when you are in the shower the droplets of water don't start changing your settings seems too much trouble so I have no hope for an issue like this where it's not obvious what's wrong.

I just tried to put a post here and it was removed as spam. Not sure why as I am only commenting on my experience which other users have a right to know! To summarise what I said in what I believe is a non-spammy way!...

I have the same problem here unfortunately. I've not managed to get my runs to show on the Fitbit Strava App since I bought the Ionic back in October . I've tried everything multiple times over, authorised it both ways, synched, uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, factory reset the Fitbit at least once but as yet it's still not resolved. The only thing I can put it down to is the fact I'm using a Windows Phone as this continues to cause other problems such as notifications rarely working.

If anyone has any other ideas I'd certainly welcome them as Fitbit Support doesn't appear to have any.

Edit (09/07/18): Seems my original post has now appeared!

No way, that actually worked! I opened the Fitbit and Strava apps on my phone at the same time and the next time I opened the Ionic app there they were!

Seems a bit bizarre though, why on earth isn't this communicated to users? More importantly why on earth do we have to go through such a palaver to get things working?!

Anyhow, problem solved. Thanks rollingpebbles - Legend!

Hi my Fitbit won’t link to Strava, I have been in touch with Fitbit and re set and done all it says , but keeps saying no recent activity on my fit bit. It’s linkrd to my phone and says connected with but but won’t work. Hope you can solve my problem. I have emailed Strava and awaiting a reply. Thanks

Hi my Fitbit says the same no recent activity. It’s all linked up. How did you resolve this? Thanks

I ended up looking on YouTube and found a thread. You need to authorise
your strava app in the fitbit watch app.

Good. I am now having problems with Strava it’s all linked up to my phone
and Fitbit bit says no recent activity. Called Fitbit and say it could be
Strava related. Have tried all ways. I might YouTube it and find out.
Thanks.

The only way I have ever managed to get this to work is by opening both mobile apps at the same time on your phone. So open the Strava Mobile App, leave it open. Then open the Fitbit Mobile App and sync your Fitbit. Then you should see your recent activity on the Fitbit Strava App. The issue with this of course is that it basically makes the Fitbit Strava app a complete waste of space. If you have to open the Strava Mobile App each time just to get it to sync your most recent activity you might as well just check your activity on there!

Hello from 2020.

Had this exact issue and bizarrely, switching my default *from* running *to* cycling fixed it.
