Recently I've noticed my Ionic isn't syncing. I've had the watch for about a year and no real issues until recently. I first noticed when there was the recent firmware update, where it hadn't synced in 5 days!!!
I always leave my bluetooth on so thats not the issue. I've restarted both the tracker & my phone ( Galaxy S8 if that matters) and it sometimes syncs but not always.
In the app the 'All day sync' 'always connected' & 'keep alive widget' are all enabled. And just going to check I notice it says the last sync was 12 minutes ago.
Is there any way to improve the reliability here or is my watch on its way out

A warm welcome to the Community @Emasullivan. I appreciate the troubleshooting that you've performed as well for the details mentioned.
I would like you to make sure that you have the latest app version and if your Bluetooth and all day sync are enabled, it should sync without any inconvenience. If it happens again, you may want to try the syncing troubleshooting.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

In searching other posts it seems it's a common issue since the new Android update. Both my OS on my phone is up to date and so is the Fitbit app.
All the Sync options are on, i've even deleted and re-installed the app but it's the same and not regularly syncing which is frustrating as I cant accurately check stats on my phone nor are any notifications on my tracker working.
I just hope theres a fix to this soon
