Within the last week, I got sick of seeing the "Update Your Tracker" notification in the FitBit App on my iPhone. I selected to update it and ever since I have been having such a hard time with my Ionic.
At first, I would use wi-fi to download the update and it kept getting to the end of the download would begin the install and then automatically start all over again. I couldn't figure out how to get it stop this cycle other than to force close the app and come on to the forums to find help.
I've tried several recommendations that I've seen, like resetting the Ionic, removing the Ionic from my FitBit account and setting it up again, restarting my phone, and even connecting via bluetooth with my phone instead of wifi even though it would take longer.
Well, this has been going on for several days and for the last 2 days I haven't even been able to track my workouts with my fitbit because of my attempt at updating my Ionic and on top of it, the download using bluetooth gets to 100%, stays there for about an hour before I get a notification that it failed and I need to restart the process again.
This has been going on for 5 days already. I'm ready to toss my Ionic and find a different tracker altogether.

Hello,
I faced a similar issue when updating my Ionic to the latest firmware that was just released. Although I am on an Android OS based phone, I performed the following (I know that you have done some of the following already):
1) removed the ionic from the fitbit app
2) removed the bluetooth connection from my phone settings
3) uninstalled the fitbit app from my phone
4) restarted my phone
5) reinstalled the fitbit app
6) performed a factory reset on the ionic
7) signed back into my fitbit account on the fitbit app
😎 gone through the steps of setting up my fitbit ionic from 'scratch'
9) letting the fitbit ionic download and install the latest firmware available from the fitbit servers
everything else from there was just going through the process of setting up the fitbit ionic post firmware update.
Hopefully this helps 😄

Hi,
I've experienced the same behavior on my iPhone for several days as you described, and it is REALLY frustrating, and taking up way too much time.
Did the solution provided by the user below work for you?
Best regards,
Bill
