Let me help you with your inquiry. It is possible to sync your Ionic using your computer just make sure that your Macbook has native Bluetooth, check out this great article. I also would like to share the compatible devices list in case you want to sync using your mobile device.

Hope it helps!

This is not a helpful solution. The "Great Article" you mention doesn't even relate to the question, or go anywhere near answering it. I'm wasting literally hours trying to figure out to how to sync Fitbit Ionic with one of my devices.... all have problems. Maybe the problem is the Ionic.....

Hi,

When you try to Sync the Ionic with MAC desktop Fitbit, the Ionic devices is not in the list.

I have been struggling to try to send personal itunes music to my Ionic and the troubleshooting is very not acessible:

1- Very difficult to track when you can and cannot Ionic Wifi. At my phine IOS13 I can see it connected to the samae WIFI as the laptop, but I cant synchronize with the laptop neither Bluetooth or Wifi. Is there a debug mode I can turn on?

2- When you try to Sync on the desktop app at the MACOS, if stays forever on "Searching for Bitbit tracker"; the Ionic is next to the laptop, already restarted the phone, the MAC bluetooth (also trying disabling my phone bluetooth) and nothing.

3- Another thing: everything I try to do with the desktop app, I always need to setup the user/password, isnt there a way to "keep connected"

Please help with the above

I have to agree with you. I have been searching on youtube without success and also wasting several hours. It seems the Ionic is not in the "BitFit Tracker list" in the desktop "Fitbit Connect app". Please Bitfit support/dev team, help with this lack of functionality.

The Mac bluetooth is fine, any other device can successfully be paired.

When you try to add the Ionic to the MAc fitbit connect connect, the Ionic product is missing at the "Which Fitbit tracker are you setting up?" screen.

Totally agree, I've wasted hours trying to get my Ionic to pair with MacBook Pro. It doesn't show as an option in the Fibit Connect. How the hell are you supposed to get music onto it? The 'answer' given above explains nothing.

I didn’t realise Google had bought them, thought maybe that might have helped, at least they’d have plenty of money to spend haha. I think I’m going to get a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro. They’re expensive but I’ve heard good things about them and should last me quite a few years…I would have got the 5 but all sold out here.

Ok, after feeling like an idiot for half a day - I haven't been able to sync, but have been able to transfer music from my macbook pro to the ionic.

I setup my new ionic using my android phone. Then I connected my macbook to the 2.4GHz wifi the ionic was connected to. Turned off bluetooth on the phone (not sure why this was a problem, seeing as it's connected via wifi to the laptop, not bluetooth). Open fitibit connect and select transfer music. That allowed me to move music over.

In truth, it's a crappy piece of software that appears to not have been updated in many years. It has soured my experience with the new watch I was eagerly looking forward to.

@MaginB this has not been answered the thread has just turned into a very well deserved ionic bashing exercise.  So I think I'll pile on in the hope that some poor fool that's been lured here reads this and buys a garmin.  Or you can fix these problems and we can all jog on!

I'm not happy with this device for so many reasons I don't know know where to start.  GPS can be very flakey, vibrations just stopped working on everything, access to MY stats (not yours google) is a real PITA, premium, service is a joke (seriously why would anyone do that?) and now to top it off the updates won't install and I can't connect it via bluetooth or wifi from phone or PC.  The PC as per this thread doesn't even list it as a device.  I think the pebble is now a brick!

Got a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro after this thread achieved nothing and haven’t looked back. Yeah it’s pricey but it’s a beast.
