So I've had the Fitbit Ionic for about a year and a half and starting about 2 months ago, I've noticed that the back to the watch is starting to fall off. Because of this, the water resistance is out of the window and the sensors are not at all accurate anymore. Being an avid runner, I've been using the watch almost everyday, running from 5 to 13 miles each day in every type of weather imaginable. This watch was rated as being water resistance, which it did do its job pretty well at but there were so many trade offs when it came to using this watch. One trade off was the battery. During warmer months, the battery was pretty good, lasting about two days before I had to charge it, but during colder months like in the winter, I could never trust my watch during runs, always going on routes that I had memorized the pace and distances for. About half of the times during runs in the winter, my watch would die halfway through and I always made sure my watch was above 90% for every single one of those runs. I know that the cold makes batteries run of faster, but dying before the run was even over was ridiculous. My friends use Garmins, which I'm considering purchasing because they seem so much better, and they never had any problems with their watches ever dying on runs. Another problem was GPS. It was always unreliable and took too long to find. My friends always could get their watches to get a good GPS signal almost immediately and the pace of my watch was way too inconsistent when it came to running, always being about 20 seconds off of what it actually was. The third problem is build quality of the actual watch and it's accessories. Starting with the watch bands, I've had to replace the straps once already and I am about to do so again because it's causing the watch the not be securely fit onto my wrist like an actual watch should. Going back to what I had said earlier about the back starting to fall off, I think it is ridiculous that a product that's price at over $400 has these such issues, especially if the product hasn't even been used for a mere 2 years. Considering the reputation of Fitbit and the quality issues it has, I think that sticking with this company is not worth it in the long run if I have to always give up many things for one small upgrade. With the bad build quality, bad battery, bad software, and bad overall experience, I think I'll be switching over to a more reputable company that is know for making high quality products that actually put them at a fair price.

My ionic was working fine till the firmware up know the heart rate no longer works or the steps and im just SOL? whatever.
I can't even. every single product i get from fitbit has to be replace over and over
but with the icon this would be the third replacement but since i miss the warranty by a few days they will not replace it. this wasn't a cheap buy along with the extra accorsary to keep and take care of it.
so i will be deleting my account and will never recommend it.
why make something that only last barely a year that cost as much as it does. My sister just bought one and iI told her to take it back and find a company that can make solid products. Not more stuff to add to the landfill.

Basically i talked to 9 different reps 3 supervisors. all gave me different information.
they WERE suppose to email me on the decisions if the will or will not replacement my device. I waited for a email never got one. so i called them. wasted 40 minutes just to be told no.
Fitbit can keep it. They will never get another dime or recommendations from me especially after 6 years. I mean they did have to replace my charger 3 twice...........that should have been my first clue.
never again, hard lesson learn. Sheesh, too expensive just to have a glorified watch in the end??? They should put in fine print:
Buyers beware: may or may not last after a year buy at your own risk.
everything was fine until that unnecessary update..that your forced to do.even though after a year it should be my device and my choice.. Considering it was perfect before the update..............but that was in my head too? Ok Karen...........😒
off to find another brand.....hopeful i can switch my information over unless fitbit app magically delete my history overnight while I'm search.
at this point i would not be surprise.🤨

Yes i have spread the word on trust pilot and will continue to do so anywhere I can. I mean i thought that was a right??????
fitbit must take tacks and moves from today politics or something.🤔
on the plus side i did order a new garmin and cannot wait for it to come.
you can also change the batteries in those and better warranty.😑
my biggest grape was with how CS tried to call me a liar and literally make it seem like it was my fault.
like I can't even
