Ionic battery and GPS issues

OK, the first just happened today. My Ionic was on 17% battery life, and I was going out for a four-mile run. I know that that long a run never uses up 17% of the battery. This time it turned itself off after I was running for about 20 minutes. When I went back to charge it, after a few minutes it said it had 19% battery life. So, I have to believe that it did not go down much past 17% but turned itself off for some reason. Any ideas?

The second issue is when I run a race. So, when you are standing in the chute waiting for the race to start, you want to get connected to the GPS and log your run by hitting the "run" exercise function. But, if you do that too early, and they do the national anthem and say a few words, but the time the race starts it is no longer in the "run" exercise function. So, then you have to connect to the GPS again, which can sometime take a couple minutes, so you miss the start of the race. Is there any way to lengthen the amount of time it stays ready to record your "run" exercise without going to back to regular more? Thanks!

Hey @kirkleach, it's great to see you around.

I will be glad to help you with the issues you have been experiencing with your Ionic. The first one, to avoid this to happen again, I recommend restarting your Fitbit and test it.

Now about the GPS, I recommend taking a look at the following help articles:
