Ionic black screen

POINTLESS BY ALL ACCOUNTS but by saying nothing we should expect nothing. My ionic less than two years old in October of 2020 failed to respond to some touches, I then opted for the update hoping it would fix the problem but instead ended up with a black screen and a brick for a watch. I initially  discovered it was still feeding info to my phone but that too soon stopped. I've spent a great deal of time trying all of the suggested repairs but nothing. During this time I've also read the reports of MANY experiencing the same problem and with the same resolve...try restarting, resetting, and finally from Fitbit "here is a discount for replace".

Too many of these Fitbit owners are sitting with dead watches that are just past the length of warranty.

Great money grab, how about fixing the problem or try giving full replacement value until you find a repair.

Disappointed is an understatement! I went from saying Fitbit is the best fitness watch always challenging apple supporters to now looking for a replacement watch that is not a flawed product like Fitbit.

I am sincere in saying that while I hate to leave I see it as others probably do; if it was a tainted food product it would be recalled, a faulty vehicle recalled, a faulty fitbit....."lets leave it as such offering a small discount and profit from replacement".

Sorry to hear that your Ionic has died after the warranty ended, @CndnHooper.  While you emphasize that there are "reports of MANY experiencing the same problem", there is no mention of the many more that don't bother posting anywhere the good operation of their Ionic, or other Fitbit devices. People typically only report problems, and remain silent when there is no problem.  Best of luck with whatever replacement device you choose.

I have the exact same issue, mine is literally 2 years old this christmas, and expensive! It's a shame!

The same issue is happening to me. This is the second time.  It happened with my charger and now with my Ionic.  For the amount of money we pay for these items, they should at least last a little longer or there should be some repair instead of a small discount on another one.  That tells me there is one heck of a high mark up on these.  Thinking of looking for another item.  So disappointed.

I feel the same way.

While there surely exists many who have not experienced this misfortune,
and while it's also true that this site is likely populated with mainly
questions and complaints. It is hard to deny that there exists too many
fitbit enthusiasts across many blogs who have experienced this same problem
with replacement almost always the ending resolve.

As indicated in my original post I was undeniably pro Fitbit and would
readily point others in the direction of fitbit products. Now Im left to envy
those like USAF who spent good money like the rest of us but fortunate
enough to recieve a durable product.

I understand and appreciate the input of people like USAF but like you I
now understand just how easy it is to applaud a product when the product
hasn't failed you.

Thanks for your response
