Ionic calibration message, not tracking steps or BPM

I updated my Ionic yesterday after noticing that it stopped tracking steps. It hasn't tracked BPM for months. It is less than a year old. Now, after the update, I keep getting a calibration error (make sure sensors are not blocked -- they aren't). Please help! I've tried changing the clock face and doing a factory reset. Thanks.

The person I spoke with said nothing can be done about this issue, my
device is out of warranty (of course), and offered me 25% off on a new
device. I respectfully declined the offer. This Fitbit is my last Fitbit
ever. I've owned several - the first few got lost because the band was so
crappy they kept falling off my wrist. Another stopped working not long
after I got it. I thought by buying a better (more expensive) model, I
might get better quality. Not so much. I could have gotten an Apple Watch
for all the money I've wasted on Fitbit. My daughter has an Ionic and WHEN
hers stops working properly, we will move on with our lives without Fitbit.
