Ionic dead after factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I purchased a new samsung 10 phone and for whatever reason my Ionic would not connect via bluetooth. I decide to do a factory reset / code update on the Ionic, which completed successfully. A few hours later it went dark, as if the battery was dead, and now it wont turn on or show any indication when plugged into the charging cable.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

I am having the same problem. It is extremely frustrating, as a last resort I did a factory reset and when I paired with the iOS app it forced a software update , now the ionic is dead and nothing will turn it back on. It was fully charged a minute before it went dead.

I've found several threads where people wrote about Ionic dying for no logical reason. If you tried all button combinations+holding , cleaning the contacts(if you think it is not charging), other cable,  then you don't have anything left other than to use your warranty if you have any left.

What pisses me off is that the functionality which is meant to resolve problems (factory reset) actually can kill your unit.

So I got problems with the advertised smart functions even since the beginning, but the tracker compensated for me with tracking health things very well so I kept it. Then the smart functions like notifications stopped working at all and some of the suggested measures as last step is to factory reset your unit. Well..... thanks.....now everything will be fine, because I will get something which actually works as advertised.

I will receive my next smart wearable tomorrow. For sure, not a Fitbit.

Same here.  Fitbit Versa.  Less than two years old.  The battery was above 95% when I reset it.  I was still getting a solid 2 days of battery life.  I was troubleshooting an issue with bluetooth, so I factory reset it...  Completely dead after that.  Opened a case with Fitbit, basically was told "too old" and to pound sand.  They won't do anything but give a slight discount towards purchasing another watch.  This watch was perfect for what I needed...  However, no more Fitbit for me.

Sorry to hear that others have had the same problem with no resolution. I was lucky that my device was still under warranty and it was replaced.
