I had an Ionic barely over a year. The Ionic wouldn't charge, wouldn't respond, totally dead. Tried everything and didn't work. Replacement sent to me about 2 months ago. This one did the same thing.
Chatted with Fitbit customer service. They offered me a 25% off coupon to buy a new Fitbit. WOW. Seriously think I'd buy another piece of junk. So frustrated as I paid $250-300 new. It barely lasted over a year.
I'm going back to Garmin.

Just look down the list of posts and you will see the vast numbers of people this is happening to. There is a serious design flaw that is causing significant numbers of Ionics to brick themselves. They need to figure out what the issue is, fix it, then issue a recall of every affected device with offer of full replacement with an item that has been built without the catastrophic error(s). Otherwise they will lose many, many, many customers. Stock has been tanking already.

Add me to the list of ionic paperweights. 16 months, no issue, then today, dead.

So, after thinking about it for a day or so, Fitbit acknowledges that the ionic has a manufacturer defect but they will only act if it happens to hit in the first year. Pretty weak when it can apparently occur at any time.

I understand your comments but the warranty and return policy should reflect the fact that a manufacturer defect can occur after a year. Given the prices and the fact that many consumers actually upgrade their trackers at full cost to take advantage of newer models, the expectation is that the newer models last longer than they do.
I have to question the business practices of losing long term customers over a product that admittedly has a fault. There is a cost to acquire a new customer but an existing customer is right there for the taking, only requires a minimum of support. When you keep losing long term repeat customers, everyone loses. I'm sure there are competitors that would love to have my business which includes at least a dozen products. When I started with Fitbit over five years ago, they were the industry leader. I'm seeing competition that has not only narrowed the gap but perhaps have surpassed Fitbit. It's sad, I was a champion for the company and it's products but feel like I've been kicked in the stomach.

Seriously. To pay $250 plus and it to die a little over a year. Not to mention my 1st month of ownership the band broke...followed by the 2nd band doing the same. I had to argue just to get a replacement.
Fitbit should be embarrassed.

I believe in the UK under the consumer act, then the ionic would be classed as not fit for purpose, so there fore, you would be entitled to a new watch, or your money back, or if they can fix, they have a certain amount of days
To back this up, think you would need proof that Fitbit has acknowledge there a problem with the Ionic
If there a hardware issue, surely fit-bit should do a recall
