Ionic dead

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A few weeks ago my Ionic's battery went dead. I charged it like normal but there was no connection from the fitbit to the charger. I waited a few days, tried again, and the same thing happened. I bought a new charger, thinking maybe the charger was bad, still nothing changed. I researched how to reset the fitbit and how to clean it properly. Nothing has helped.

In the meantime I have bought a new fitbit, but I would really like to see if you have any more suggestions I could try to get it up and running again because the Versa that I bought just isn't the Ionic. Thanks for the help!

Have a look at this link .

Have you tried different usb chargers. I found that my iPhone charger won't work but iPad charger will because of the different power output

This seems to be a common problem a lot of people are having. If you scroll down you’ll see other conversations in forums where peoples ionics have just stopped working. This happened to me two days ago and still no resolution.

My Ionic was working fine yesterday (July 7th 2019).  I took it off when I went to bed (about 10:30 pm), leaving it on my desk as I always do.  It was not plugged in to the charger.

Today, Tuesday July 8th 2019 it is "black screen", and no amount of pushing the single button, nor plugging it in to the charger wakes it up.  It did sync (according to my dashboard) at about 10:50pm last night, and there was a software update waiting for it earlier in the day.  I have no idea if it applied the software update.

Help !! ????

My screen went black out of no where as well. People seem to think the update shorted it out. Apparently Fitbit is not offering replacements if it’s outside of the standard 1 year warranty. They are offering 40% off a new one, which is bogus since it seems to be a product malfunction because of the software update.

There has to be something going on with all these having the same problem. Hopefully they will find the problem soon.

OK...  found (why does FitBit make it so hard to find basic stuff?) the instructions to restart my Ionic.  Hold all three buttons for 10 seconds....  did so, and the fitbit logo appeared.  Waited about 30 seconds, and it is back to life.  Phew!  However the date is showing yesterday, and the time 10:49pm, so I am guessing it turned itself off when it applied the update.

So I am hoping a synch will sort it out.....
