Ionic doesn't sync regularly

I have been a Fitbit user for many years and recently upgraded to an Ionic. Since getting it I have had a problem getting it to sync on a regular basis. I have gone thru turning BT on and off, restarting my Iphone and deleting the app and reinstalling it. I have also done a couple of factory resets. I contacted the Fitbit support team and quite honestly they were useless. I think the issue is that this device does not omit a strong enough or steady BT transmission. When I try to sync the app toggles between connecting and searching and in the settings on my phone it also toggles between connected and not connected. I have confirmed that I am running the latest firmware version on the device. I have tried it on my Iphone and Windows Surface but run into the same problems on both. Has anyone else had the same problem? Unfortunately I purchased this Ionic from a department store so Fitbit will not even send me a new one. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello UM,

Fortunately\Unfortunately you're not the only one having these issues and the same response from Fitbit.  Here's a current thread where people are actively posting about it:

There are some Band-Aid fixes but basically we're waiting for Fitbit to come up with a real solution. 

 

I'm in the same boat as you.  My return period is over hoping that Fitbit would resolve it quickly.  But 15 days went by and now it's been about 2 months since I've had mine.
