Ionic failed during update, acted odd prior to update

Hi my Ionic failed during a Bluetooth update. It had been having trouble syncing for several days beforehand and then the display time went wrong (wrong hours and minutes).  I tried a menu driven shutdown, but saw no improvement so tried a button driven reset.  On reconnecting it to my phone, it would not update over WiFi but eventually started on Bluetooth.  Partway through the Bluetooth transfer it stoped, the screen went black and I have not been able to charge or revive it since (screen stays black).  I have left it a fortnight to see if letting it discharge would help, it has not and still not power up or charge.

If it is within the warranty period they will replace it, it's been happening to a significant number of them. Contact support via chat and let them know that you tried all of the different means to reset the device.

If it's not within warranty period then you're plum out of luck.  My Ionic battery failed 2 months after it's 365 day warranty period.

Fitbit response was "we unquestionably want to add more years to the relationship that started when you chose us. The good thing is, you can purchase through our retailers near you, and your purchase will come with new warranty. (www.fitbit.com)."

Go figure.  I obviously told them what I thought of this great advice.  No longer a fan.
