I'm having very much the same issue - I bought an Ionic to replace my Blaze, and the firmware update is freezing every time. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps, as well as disconnecting and turning off my Blaze in case that was interfering and then trying the same troubleshooting steps again.
Is this a server demand problem on the Fitbit side? If so, will this go away in a few days as the demand peak goes down? Or is it a more fundamental problem with the hardware?

Hi Richard
Its been 2 days now that i keep on installing and updating Ionic. I have the Versa that works well even who many times that I restarted or set them up again. But for Ionic, that was bought in good faith believing fitbit works fine, is totally disappointing. Could you please provide me with the right solution other than what has given in fitbit troubleshooting guidelines that didnt work at all. Please please please., I have paid for its benefits not to struggle like this.

I just got a fitbit ionic, on firmware update of (27.20.16.23) and fitbit app version on Android (3.13) January 20th update, my ionic is showing a checkmark in green with a green circle around it, I think the issue is, the phone has the latest fitbit app update, the ionic has a very old firmware version, not letting it install. 😣😔

What was your fix? I’m having this same issue! Fitbit said I needed to purchase another Fitbit and gave me 25% off. I’ve only had it 2 years and I paid over $200 for the Ionic.

not sure if that was for me or just previous member answer, just in case: in my case that was new fitbit, taken directly from box. They've replace it on warranty, now after 6 months i have another problem, screen went faulty. Iv chat with them incl sending pictures of fault, they sending me another one through dpd, im really happy thats still on warranty but quality of Ionic is horrible. I have 2 Ionics and unfortunately there is always something with them.

I live in Australia.. 465$ for the ionic, it's the hours spent trying to get this to sync properly.. Your not paying for my time.. hours to work through all the connection issues.. I suspect that it's more of the built in redundancy of a modern consumerism.. seems there is a genuine issue in software.. I won't be purchasing another fitbit product. I've read so many fixes and to date, dedicated about a week of personal time on issues.. with a product that is ment to be reliable, as in plug and play...
I use this with my win 10 pc... worked till i had the updates of win 10 then it didn't sync .. must be a month ago now... i sympathize with the guys having issues.. who just get the generic response to the issue... un-acceptable really.. I would use stronger words... I think that i am going to get the hammer and end this situation and go with a garmin..
