my ionic is frozen with the symbol showing on the face. this happened during the firmware upgrade. I can't get it to work.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Just as @SunsetRunner suggested, please restart your device and let us know how it goes. If such process doesn't resolve this situation, please try the following steps:
Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
