Ionic had too many steps upon waking up

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I woke up to 34,000 steps even though I was asleep.

I synched, several times; power cycled the watch, my phone, my laptop.... several times.

Still it kept stepping... until it ran out of Battery?

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SteveCatons! Thanks so much for already troubleshooting this issue you had with the extra steps on your Ionic. Nice way to go!

It seems that your tracker forgot to reset the information by itself. When this happens, even if you try to restart your tracker, delete the app, negate the steps, this won't work. Everything will be back to normal the next midnight when your device resets the information as it should. This happened to me once and I had to wait the next midnight in order for it correct itself Smiley Very Happy (I know this can be annoy, I feel you).

Since you posted yesterday, I was wondering if your Ionic is showing the correct information today?

Keep me posted!

Why should it be this way? Why can't users edit the information they know isn't correct? Why should it be people who purchase this product be satisfied with some non-technical solution and some funny quip that leaves the solution unanswered and unaddressed as a flaw in the product?

This is really frustrating!

I've gone back to my other solution.

I've tried everything.

I'm on day four.

I love my Fitbit, but my "other device" has come a long ways.... since I'd been away.

Now, I've got a bigger dilemma?

It is not working.

Now some one trolled me by removing my post in which I echoed my sentiments regarding this matter?

That was a very mild reaction to the way I have been treated, thus far by this fit bit community.

I am looking for resolution.

I don't think it is fair to have to buy a new Ionic every 12 months because it fails.

How do I speak with someone in real time??

I’m sitting reading and have been pretty much all morning waiting for the rest of the household to wake up and my Ionic says i’ve done 49,335 steps and running out of battery juice quicker than an eight year old iPhone. After reading all of the complaints I’m sad to say I’ll be shoving my watch in the famous second drawer of useless crap under the cutlery drawer.
