Ionic heart rate issues

I updated my Ionic and the steps counter just keep running up.  It shows that I am constantly moving and my daily steps are over 100,000 steps per day.  The heartbeat also shows that my heart is about to explode with 200 beats per minute.  How do I fix this issue?  I can’t even wear it because battery drains in a few hours.

First thing to try when a fitbit misbehaves is a restart using the following procedure:

It does no harm and can sort out all sorts of issues. You might need to give it a few tries though as it's known to not always work.
