So I’m having an issue where my iconic is counting steps while sitting and also not tracking heart rate .I didn’t do any more than 5000 steps today and I’m up to 20000. I’v tried turning it off and on. Iv done the update. Checked the sensitivity and also factory reset it but it’s still doing it. I only brought it 5 months ago too.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Chelsea98! Sorry to hear that your Ionic is counting too many steps while sitting. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshot this, nice way to go!
Did you take off your tracker? Sometimes this happens as a result of a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that Ionic was placed on while charging or not being worn. If this is the case, please try placing Ionic on a different surface without any vibrations and check if the same persists.
If the same persists or it continues to happen even when charging on a non vibrating surface; the best thing to do is to report this to customer support. They should be able to check further and help you out with the best solution available. I can help you to create a case in you behalf if needed.
In regards to the heart rate, I'd recommend taking a look at this post to get tips and recommendations.
Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!
