Ionic is not notifying for notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a fitbit ionic and it was giving me alerts to phone calls and messages and now it won't do it no matter how I try to fix it.  Its not even a year old and I am thinking I spent this money for nothing.

Ionic does have a mute feature @Pastrychef, you might double check it didn't accidentally get activated as you were swiping around.

First swipe down to see if there are any stored messages, if none then it may be activated.

Swipe over to settings

scroll up to notifications

make sure both settings are say "on"

Now, just be sure everything "sticks" as you want it, press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until the screen flashes.

Go to your mobile and touch and pull down on the fitbit screen to force a sync (press at bottom and pull up if windows) . Have someone call you. If the alert doesn't come up then troubleshoot the notification settings on your mobile. Let me know if you need help with that after trying a phone reboot (on mobile, press side button until slider for off comes up, press same button to power back on)

Here to help.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Pastrychef! Have you tried what my friend @wmchapman suggested? This happened to me once, had that feature turned off and my notifications weren't coming through.

If the notifications are still not working after checking that, please try the following:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app
  3. Tap on Account > Ionic > Notifications
  4. When a pop-up with a "Bluetooth Pairing Required" message, tap on Set Up and continue.
  5. A new "Bluetooth Pairing Request" will appear, tap on Pair to continue
  6. Once in the Notifications menu, enable the ones you'd like to receive.
  7. Go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:
    • Allow Notifications
    • Show on Lock Screen
    • Show in History

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
