Ionic not auto recognizing treadmill

Been having this issue...wondering if anyone else has had it and if there is a fix:

Ionic Watch

3 days in a row, I ran 50 to 70 minutes on treadmill (nothing new there, always do, it always tracked it automatically).....when I sync it registers as the appropriate amount of active minutes, BUT suddenly isnt registering as having done any exercise at all for the day!

If I go to heartrate, you can CLEARLY see the elevated heartrate during my exercise time, so that is working.

Anyone know why it wouldnt show up in the exercise section, but shows up in the active minutes and hear rate?

(I use Samsung Galaxy 8 to sync)

@Kellygrl73 Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

Since you're using SmartTrack to track your treadmill activity but it's not being recognized. I would like you to lower the detection to 10 minutes and restart the Ionic. After this, please try again and check if your activity is recognized.

Keep me posted. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Silvia,

It was already restarted several times, and it was already set to 10 minutes.

I have changed it to 15 & 20, then restarted, then changed back to 10, then restarted.

Bascially, it stopped tracking the elliptical automatcially, but I assumed it was the activity.  Next it did't register a run like it usually does. . I restarted the device & restarted my phones, and an hour later or so it did recognize it & it showed up in exercise.  Since WED after running 71 minutes & getting ZERO minutes of exercise for the day, but showing 71 active minutes for the day & showing heart rate the entire day (and elevated for the exercise time). . it has apparently just stopped auto-tracking any running whatsoever, or any activity whatsoever & fails to show it as exercise in the dashboard.  However, it will show it as active minutes & it will show it in the heart rate section, it merely won't register it as "exercise".

Today I just manually started it & made it log the run on the indoor track as a run & upon completion that synced & recorded.  The ONLY apparently issue is the inability to auto-recognize & record running/exercise.

Since so may people have this issue, I must assume it is some sort of software gliche acting up.  I certainly hope you people can get to the bottom of this soon.  This is a major pain in the butt having to remember to manually record all this stuff

@Kellygrl73 Thanks for getting back. I appreciate the detailed information shared.

Thanks for letting me know that you've lowered your minutes to 15&20 minutes, however, it's still not working.

We've found that some customers have a better experience with SmartTrack if they try wearing their tracker on a different wrist. Because SmartTrack recognizes activities based on the continuous movement of your arms, in some cases, changing the wrist that you wear your tracker on can improve activity recognition.

Remember that if you change your wrist, you should also change your handedness setting. For more information on how wearing your tracker affects accuracy, please see the article How accurate are Fitbit trackers. For instructions about updating your settings, see the article What should I know about SmartTrack exercise detection.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
