Ionic not charging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have looked through similar posts and followed the same steps.

My battery was completely dead so I let it charge overnight. When I tried to turn it on in the morning there was no response. I tried to hold down the left button and the bottom right button for 20 seconds multiple times to rest it and nothing. I even tried holding down all three buttons for 15 seconds because I saw that worked for someone somewhere. I'm not sure if that was supposed to help, but nothing did. It is still completely dead and my phone will not connect to it.

Any other troubleshooting tips before contacting cutomer service?

Mine is 6 months old and is dead too. It won't charge or do anything. It appears that is DOA. RIP Ionic. I will have to send it back for repair.

My ionic completely died and I have tried to charge it for a few days now through that USB on my computer and in the wall with no luck. According to the app it says my battery is completely dead and phone will not connect to it. I have cleaned the cable and connections but the charger works for my wifes, so I know its the watch. I'm not sure what else to do? I've tried to restart it holding the buttons with no luck? Can someone please help?

Contact costumer support even though it is no help, it was like throwing away 300 bucks. They wanted me to ship it to them, wait to be looked at or fixed if they could. Then maybe send a replacement. I just said heck with it.

Thanks for jumping in here @Nproctor501! Also, thanks for the steps you've taken in order to sort this out. Did you also try cleaning your Ionic?

While reading your post I was wondering if by any chance you stopped using your Ionic for a while? If so, what I guess here is that probably your tracker ran out of battery. Have you tried charging it at least 1 hour? Even if you don't get anything on the screen I'd recommend charging your tracker at least 1 hour to see if the battery icon comes up after that period of time.

Charging fully takes up to 2 hours. While the watch charges, you can tap the screen or press any button to check the battery level.

If after the 1-2 hours you don't get anything on the display, check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions (double check if these steps were the ones you took).

I'd also try restarting your Ionic once more by following these steps

In regards to the battery on your app, the reason why you're still seeing a low battery on your app is because the last time you synced it has low battery and the icon updates the battery level every time you sync and since you haven't synced yet due to the tracker died so it still remains the low battery.

It's nice to have you here @StevenC1071! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'd like to give thanks for the feedback you've provided towards our product. Thanks for the post, I’ve been having the same issue and just tried holding the left and bottom right button down for 15 seconds and it’s back on. Hope you’ve got this all sported now too?!

I have tried that to many times. I have wrote it off as a loss , brand new stuff shouldn’t do this but then again you should stand behind your product 100%. And that has never happened!! Fitbit is dead to me!!!

Tried it all!!! Like I said in every other post. But the company does not care one bit. But hey if I was someone other than a white single dad with an 11 year old not getting child support, doing it on his own and pay 350 bucks for something that breaks in 6 months and the company won’t send a replacement. But who am I. Oh ya the customer!!!
