Ionic not displaying text message from Note 8

2nd day with the ionic and i to receive notifications but does not tell me who its from nor the actual text.... please help

@Krist3506 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for participating on this board and reporting this strange notifications situation. 

 

So, by any chance, the text notifications are only showing as "New Message"? Also, is this only happening with text notifications or is it also happening with other app's notifications?

 

Try the following:

 

  • Open your "Messages" app on your Android device.
  • Go to "Settings".
  • Click on "Notifications".
  • Make sure there is a checkmark next to "Preview Message".

This has helped other users in the past, please give it a try.

I have a Google Pixel XL. I was having this same problem. Turning on the preview worked to see the message text, but has now created another problem. The message pops up on the screen and disappears quickly so if you are not looking  you will miss it. The list of missed notifications show no missed notifications so you can't even click on it. Any help on how to fix is appreciated.

@ShirreneG Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you were experiencing with Ionic not displaying text messages.

 

I'm really glad to hear that you were able to make it work. Would you mind posting the steps you took to sort this out? I'm sure a lot of users will find that helpful.

For clarification, I do not have a NOTE 8, but this thread helped me resolve issues for my Google Pixel XL phone. Also, the messaging app I am using is Message+ by Verizon. To solve my issues, I did the following: Open the Message+ app > Go to settings > Click Notifications > Turn on the following: Notifications, Privacy Settings, Enable Popup. I also have Enable Network notifications turned on but I do not know if that is making a difference or not. I hope this helps someone!
