Ionic not holding charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My ionic that I bought in December has been working very well. Usually needing a charge after 3 days. But starting last Sunday, it doesn't even last a day. I have to charge it up to 100% before bed, around 930 pm and it's down to under 15% by 8 pm the next day. I can't keep charging it every day. That's the whole reason I bought one with a larger battery. I've tried resetting the watch, uninstalling apps, removing it from my phone's app, and even charging with a different cable. Nothing works

Hi @Randylm thank you for bringing this to my attention, I'm happy to give you a warm welcome to our Fitbit forums and to give you assistance with your device.

First, I'd like to appreciate your time and effort troubleshooting your Ionic prior posting here. Let me share with you that our Fitbit Ionic was designed to last 5 days but the battery life also depends on how frequently you use it’s features. That said, I recommend you to charge your device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use and check this help article for more tips and recommendations.

Also, even though you already tried it, I recommend you to perform again a restart process to refresh it’s performance after taking in consideration the above steps.

Keep me posted, I’ll be right here if you need anything else.

My advice @Randylm is request Fitbit replace your watch immediately if it is still within warranty period.  Their support will go through a standard battery test procedure with you, but basically it's a load of rubbish.

Sooooooo many people are reporting defects with Fitbit Ionic and other products.  My Ionic battery failed 2 months after the watch’s 365 day warranty period.

After going through their support team advice, response from Fitbit was “"we unquestionably want to add more years to the relationship that started when you chose us. The good thing is, you can purchase through our retailers near you, and your purchase will come with new warranty. (www.fitbit.com)."

Dont' expect to get much more than that canned response from them if you are still not within warranty period.  I and a ton of other purchasers are now stuck with useless $300 paper weights.
